Protecting you and your family

Insurance protection for those you care about

One of the most valuable features of Asset Super is the insurance cover it provides for eligible members.  For most people, that means protection for themselves and the people they care about in the event that they die or become permanently disabled.

As a member of Asset Super, you can request the type and the level of cover that suits you and your circumstances.  We don’t believe that ‘one size fits all’, so we let you tailor your insurance to what you need and can afford.  That’s why we call it ‘Common sense cover’.

We understand that different life events occur such as marriage or taking out your first mortgage and importantly your insurance also needs to change. So we’ve made it easy for you to increase your insurance protection without the usual medical evidence, when you might need it most.

Asset offers its members three different insurance options:

  • Death cover which provides a lump sum amount if you die;
  • Total & permanent disability (TPD) which provides a lump sum amount if you become totally & permanently disabled;
  • Income protection cover which provides a monthly income for a limited time (up to 2 years) if you are temporarily unable to work because of illness or injury.

And this cover now makes even more sense. On 1 November 2009, Asset Super upgraded its insurance arrangements. Click here to find out more.

Low costs, generous conditions

Asset's insurance arrangements cover many thousands of members, and that buying power delivers excellent value, with competitive costs and common sense policy conditions.

Insuring through Asset is also very convenient. The costs are deducted directly from your Asset Super account. So all you need to do is review it from time to time to make sure it's still appropriate for your needs.

Asset has produced a booklet to help you decide on the type & amount of insurance cover that you require – simply download our Guide to Insurance and you’re on your way to protecting your future.
